Gas Line Services in Bennett, CO

What happens when you call

The number on this page connects you with an independent plumber who takes gas piping work in and around Bennett. Expect a few questions up front: what appliance is involved, where the meter is, whether you noticed an odor or just a performance problem, and whether the house is inside town limits. If there is any smell of gas, the plumber will tell you to leave and call 911 and Colorado Natural Gas first. For planned work, the plumber looks at the existing piping, works out whether it can carry the new load, and explains the permit and test.

Cost factors

• Length of the run from the meter to the appliance
• Access through attics, crawl spaces or finished basements
• Whether the main line needs upsizing for a tankless heater or extra appliances
• Trenching to a detached garage, shop or outdoor feature
• Permit, pressure test and Town inspection

Bennett conditions

Bennett is a small statutory town on the I-70 corridor, about 25 minutes from Denver International Airport, and it lies in both Adams and Arapahoe counties. Natural gas inside town comes from Colorado Natural Gas, not Xcel Energy, and the utility runs an emergency line for suspected leaks at 1-800-883-3181. Whether Colorado Natural Gas serves rural land outside town limits was not verified, so properties out there may be on propane instead; check your bill or tank invoice.

The town has grown a lot recently. Census survey figures put the median build year at 2000, with about 27% of homes built before 1980. Newer homes tend to have flexible gas tubing and systems sized for the builder's original appliances. The Town of Bennett Building Department at 207 Muegge Way reviews permits and does inspections, and the town enforces the 2024 International Codes, which include the fuel gas code.

Before the plumber arrives

• Find your gas meter and the main shutoff valve
• Clear space around the appliance and along the likely pipe route
• Have the new appliance's model and BTU rating if you are adding one
• Mark sprinklers or other buried items if digging is involved
• Know whether the address is inside town limits

Plains winters are windy and cold, so plan gas work for late summer or early fall when you can, and keep carbon monoxide alarms working in any home that burns gas.
